ONC’s Micky Tripathi to Speak at AHIMA21

Tripathi and AHIMA CEO Wylecia Wiggs Harris to discuss health IT priorities

CHICAGO – September 14, 2021 – The American Health Information Management Association announced today that Micky Tripathi, PhD, MPP, the national coordinator for health information technology, will join AHIMA CEO Wylecia Wiggs Harris, PhD, CAE, for a discussion at AHIMA21. Tripathi and Harris will talk about the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s priorities with Tripathi at the helm, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Biden Administration’s goals for health IT. Their session will take place on Wednesday, September 22, from 2-2:30 p.m. CT.

Tripathi and Harris will be joined by other high-profile speakers at AHIMA21, including:

  • Simon T. Bailey, a speaker, author, television host, and philanthropist who offers leaders strategies to perform well under pressure.
  • David Pogue, a former columnist for the New York Times and Scientific American who is also known for his appearances on CBS Sunday Morning. Pogue will discuss how technology impacts us all.
  • Daniel Kraft, MD, a physician-scientist, inventor, entrepreneur, and innovator who will talk about how technology can impact the future of medicine.
  • Megan L. Ranney, MD, an emergency physician and researcher. Dr. Ranney is a national advocate for innovative approaches to public health and will discuss using digital health to improve health and racial disparities.
  • Joel Shapiro, JD, PhD, a clinical associate professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he leads Kellogg’s Analytical Consulting Lab. He will deliver a presentation titled Generating Business Value with Data Analytics.
